Carr Manor
Tracker
This all girls Tracker group commenced in Setember 2008. Working in partnership with Carr Manor High School, Space2 provides weekly sessions for young females aged 13-16 years old.
The first thing we discovered about these young ladies is they adore bagels!

During the April 2009, Space2 working in partnership with NHS Leeds delivered a series of Sexual Health workshops to the Carr Manor Tracker Group. Topics covered were:
· What is Sexual Health? Physical mental and emotional
· What is sexual identity? And what influences this?
· Periods and pregnancy
· Contraception
· STI’s
· Sex and the Law
· Services in and around Leeds for young people

The Carr Manor Tracker February Half Term Project
During December 2008, the Carr Manor Tracker Group submitted a funding application to LS7Cash to design and undertake a 3 day project during the February Half Term holiday period. The girls were successful in their funding application! Working alongside their facilitators, and inspired by their previous trip to Interplay Theatre company to see their current educational project 'Precious Bane', the group designed and an exciting 3 day project:
DAY ONE
Song Writing:
'Writing from your closet' The girls were askd to write about personal experiences in their lives of stress, upset, emotions etc
Musical composition and recording:
With the assistance of Facilitator and Musical Director Stella Litras, the group embarked on composing their words into song lyrics and setting these to a backing track.
DAY TWO
With the assistance of Facilitator and Drama Workshop Leader Cherie Taylor the group devised, cast and rehearsed a short script on the issues and impact of bullying and disrespect.
DAY THREE
The group took an excursion to West Yorkshire Playhouse Wardrobe Hire Department. Where the group played 'dress up' and discussed the use of costume within dramatic performances.
The group also visited the West Yorkshire Playhouse's First Floor venue, where they found what 'arts' activities are on offer to young people like themselves.
On Thursday 5th March 2009, the Carr Manor Tracker group invited a select audience to come see the work produced during their February Half Term project.
The work produced was met with such applause and congratulations that the group are now in talks about developing the work further in their May Half Term holiday period.

ANTHONY NOLAN FUND RAISING EVENT
CARR MANOR HIGH SCHOOL
In November 2008 Carr Manor High School arranged a day of fund raising for the Anthony Nolan fund. To show support for this event Carr Manor Tracker participant Sam Fowler and the Tracker Project Manager Emma Hopkinson bravely nominated themselves to do a sponsored bungee jump.

| 4 | Precious Bane Excursion
An Interplay Production for schools and families young and old
When beauty of the human spirit conquers all!

Set in rural England during the early 19th century the compelling and passionate production tells the classic story of Prue Sarn, a young woman with a facial disfigurement that is viewed with hostility by the local people. Prue is an unlikely, but timeless heroine who demonstrates the bravery and spirit of true beauty. How can she influence her brother to follow her heart and choose love over money? Will she ever fulfil her dream and win the love of the weaver, Kester Woodseaves?
Precious Bane is set against a rich natural landscape, in which the seasons echo the joys and toils of our heroine. The show immerses the audience in an unforgettable, dramatic experience, where visual effects, live music and song recreate the sights, sounds and smells of a bygone age. It is against this intricate rural tapestry that Prue's powerful story unfolds as she fights to find love and acceptance for who she is.
