| 1 | In late 2006 Space2 was commissioned by NHS Leeds; to undertake workshops and research with targeted youngsters to address issues around alcohol abuse. From this process the nationally recognised booklet 'Wasted' was produced.
Following the success of this project, in 2007 Space2 was once again commissioned by NHS Leeds to create a booklet, only this time the booklet was to address issues around obesity.

Similar to the last project, this project involved a series of workshops with young people from the Tracker2 project. However this time around Space2 and NHS Leeds decided to open up the project wider and consult large numbers of young people from the inner and outer north east areas of Leeds. Gee4orce Youth Dance Group and Space2 Art Clubs at Bankside Primary School, Bracken Edge Primary School, Holy Rosary and St Anne’s Catholic Primary School took part in workshops. Deighton Gates Primary School from outer north east also volunteered and took part in a series of workshops. The workshops were lead by Leeds Met graphic design students, and used a range of physical, visual and technical exercises to address issues around obesity and healthy life styles.
In addition the Tracker2 group went ‘off their trolleys’ during February half term 2007 when they took part in a ‘supermarket dash’ workshop at ASDA in Pudsey, near Leeds. The children were split into teams and given and set a timed challenge to fill their trolleys with healthy food and ingredients. Not only did the young people have a fantastic time and learn a great deal about food shopping and healthy eating, they also were able to take all the food home with them due to ASDA donating a £100 voucher to cover all costs of the workshop!
